Catacomb

DRAGON

May 1985

Back in the olden days of computers you had to wire together by hand and program with BASIC or hand-coded assembly, I wrote a computer game that was like a dungeon game, except that the maze was 4-dimensional where a player could move up, down, north, east, west, south, snoft, or fet. There were various traps and treasures, but the worst monster was a teleporting bad thing called a Tor beast. (This was well before TOR Books went into business.) When I decided to write a computer-fantasy, it was a pleasant memory to bring the Tor beast back out of limbo.
